Chuck Foreman – Teaching Pastor
These themes about the Kingdom God will establish on earth, jump out at us in Micah’s message to Israel & Judah in chapters 4 and 5:
- International peace on earth
- Restoration and prosperity for God’s People
- A Shepherd Ruler over the entire earth
- Judgment and justice for the enemies of God’s People
- Purging of sinful practices of God’s People
Compare this with the vision John received from Jesus about God’s Kingdom as recorded in Revelation 21:1-8.
Question—how does all this fit with your notion or your church’s notion of eternity, i.e., where we will spend eternity, what it will be like, how you fit into it, etc. ?
Thought—God’s purging us of our sinful, self-reliance and rebellion against him (Micah 5:10-15) is his way of insuring that we will not miss out on the new eternal order, His Kingdom, which he is now in the process of establishing and which will ultimately come to be on earth when Christ returns to reign as King here. What do you think about this? Are you living your life in a way that shows you are a willing subject of King Jesus? Will you be ready for his ultimate reign on earth when he returns?
