Jerry Steele – Mad House Ministries
When you read Proverbs, the verdict seems to be out with regard to the most basic character trait of a fool. He (or she) is the kind of person who assumes, or wants to believe he is right and without regard for the wise advice of those around him, does exactly what he wants to do anyway. The result, Solomon observes, is failure, ruin and ultimately, death. Not a very hopeful outcome. The way to success and a fruitful, happy life, on the other hand, is simply the converse…
…Be humble, don’t assume you are initially right, and listen to, even ask for wise counsel. Why does that seem so difficult, so challenging for most of us? Even the Doobie Brothers got it right—
“What a fool believes, he receives. The wise man has the power to reason away. What seems to be is always better than nothing at all.” Hmmm….
What a wonderful story teller Jerry is!!!..absolutely loved the sermon!
