Something is going on in the Human Story, in history. A collection of ancient manuscripts claims that the Creator of our world showed up in his own world at a point in our space and time. He showed up as one of us. Since then his followers, despite their human faults and failures, have actually done some remarkable things to make this world a better place. And they seem bent on continuing to do so.
As the story goes…
…here’s what the Creator, God, was up to—he demonstrated his love to his creation through his presence among us. He was with us, to reveal himself more clearly to us and to teach us his ways, through the man Jesus (Romans 5:8). But now his presence is not just God with us, his presence is in us, by his Spirit who indwells his children (I Corinthians 3:16). Now God intends to express his love to his creation through his presence in us, who claim to follow him, as we are present in the world doing the good things he created us for in the first place, and which he prepared in advance for us to do (Ephesians 2:10).
Now the question for all of us then, would probably be this: What will I do with the opportunities God presents for me to be present as an expression of his love in his/my world?
