We all want to be part of something big—until the requirements for participation or the terms of agreement no longer suit us. 

We’re all invited to the Messiah’s Banquet in the Kingdom of God. The question is: Will we show up? The other question is: Will we surrender our quest list to him (After all, it is his banquet!) and also welcome the unwanted and he unlovely whom Jesus himself has invited?

The thing we’ve failed to realize is that they’ve been on his guest list all along! Our presence on the guest list is not a given; neither is the absence on the list of all the people we don’t like a given. If we decide not to participate on Jesus’ terms, the banquet will go on without us.

He wants a full house. And he wants us, his servants, to convince and compel all those who think our Master is not interested in them that, in fact, just the opposite is true.

Come to the banquet! Everything is ready!
