There are true victims in our world, but those who give up and give in to their misfortune victimize themselves. Our situation will not change until our attitude toward it changes. 

Jesus asks us all, “Do you really want to get well? Do you want to do better, be better? How bad? Are you willing to stop digging the pit you’ve dug for yourself, put down your shovel, build a ladder and start climbing? Stop what keeps you down. Do what lifts you up and enables you to walk!”

At some point, we all have to pick up our mat and start walking, no matter who tells us we shouldn’t or that we can’t.
