What’s in it for me?  That’s a question we often ask, perhaps under our breath, but we ask it. This begs another question, one Jesus asks us:

Where is your heart?

Well, that’s not exactly the question Jesus asks. He asks: Where is your treasure? Because then he knows where your heart is. That’s why he said:

“For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”

Do you think God, the Creator of the Universe, needs your money? Of course not! But he knows that unless he has your money, he doesn’t really have your heart.

What we learn when we become givers and let go of a portion of what God has given us is this, giving it back to him to do his work of restoration and renewal of lives and creation now is this—he takes care of us miraculously on what we have left!

When we give our money to build the Kingdom of God on earth, we are investing in the Bank of Heaven—the only bank that pays us eternal dividends!
